Twisted tree trunks in Jasper National Park

Far too many people take entrenched positions on important issues. They rarely question why they have taken these positions and they put little effort into understanding the other side. To defend their own positions, they resort to insulting their opponents instead of rational discussion. The world would be a much better place if we can change this behavior. For that reason, I’m writing a documentary, or perhaps a television series, about the world being grey instead of black and white. In my opinion, if you can’t argue both sides of an argument, then you’re not entitled to a strong opinion.

My website, AGreyWorld.com, is all about the world being grey. It looks at a wide variety of issues and looks at why people might take one side or the other based on their underlying beliefs. Then, you can analyse those underlying beliefs to see if they make sense. Many people are surprised at the results. Over time this site will become a key source of material for the documentary or television series.

Frankly, though, I’m not making progress as quickly as I had originally planned. That’s mainly because I’m in a rock’n’roll band. That’s been so much fun that I’m spending most of my discretionary time there. Despite that, I do plan to return to AGreyWorld.com.
